A New Path Forward
Designed as a gentle, restorative experience, the workshop offered caregivers space to slow down through a relaxing sound bath and an optional walk at their own pace, as well as breakfast. With accessibility at the forefront, the event created a welcoming environment for caregivers of all abilities, including those with low mobility or disabilities.
As a caregiver, I have come to realize and appreciate the importance of self-care for myself and also for my family. If I do not take care of myself, then I’m pouring out from an empty cup, which is not beneficial to those who depend on me as a caregiver.

Access to quality, affordable housing continues to be an important priority for families across our community. Through MDHA, there are properties in Nashville that include income-restricted or workforce housing options, including Cherry Oak Apartments in East Nashville.
Our ChanceTN, a pilot program of the Tennessee Alliance for Economic Mobility (TAEM) dedicated to helping individuals in low-income households overcome benefits cliffs, recently hosted We Love Our ChanceTN, a Valentine’s-themed hiring event designed to connect caregivers with immediate employment opportunities.
