The Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Dickson provides workforce development training to eight counties in the northwestern region of middle Tennessee. Specifically, by providing competency-based training that qualifies completers for employment and job advancement; contributing to the economic and community development of the communities served by training and retraining employed workers; ensuring that programs are economical and accessible to all residents of Tennessee; and by building relationships of trust with community, business, and industry leaders. The objectives of the college’s programs are to give students the opportunity to acquire marketable skills for entry into the labor market or to upgrade present skills and knowledge. TCAT Dickson incorporates work habits into the training to meet the needs of the business and industrial community, as well as, to meet student needs by utilizing open-entry enrollment so that students can begin on an individual level. Students graduate when specified competencies are met.
